My Brain Hurts

I'm just back from Viable Paradise, which is insanely amazing, but it's cooked my brain like an egg. For any of you who are speculative fiction writers, I heartily recommend it. It'll blow your mind with compressed air, as a friend of mine used to say.

Anyway, patience! I'm working on several posts now, fried brain or not, and they'll be up soon.

Whew!

I look forward to the posts.

Oh, by the way, I bought that Hugo Carbet(?) book yesterday. Beautifully designed and illustrated, looking forward to reading it. Thanks for pointing me towards it.

Oh, wow! I've been ass-deep in revision on my own stuff and I haven't been paying attention to what was going on with the new batch of VPers this year.

Congratulations! I went last year (and also the year before, but as a support spouse) and it is indeed mind-blowing.

How cool to find out one of my favorite bloggers attended VP!

"blew my mind with compressed air" is a phrase well worth appropriating. I might if I remember to.

I wrote some short fiction inspired by the photo post before you left. Swimming with Elephants and Dancing Robots.

Thanks for the unintentional prompting. :)

Hey Heather!
Your blog is so. cool. I think I will be a regular.

Does that first comment mean you enjoyed the Invention of Hugo Cabret as much as I did?
I knew we had lots of stuff in common.
The way the picture sequences seemed like silence made it so much like black-and-white film I really geeked out over it. But no one seems to get how cool the concept is. *sigh*

I want to see another book like that come out.

Yay, Bethany!

You are right about Hugo Cabret (I mention it in a former post but did not speak as perfectly as you do about the film-like quality. Very perceptive.

And Annie, your stories are wonderful. It's great that my oddments can inspire you so!
